I recently joined Grassroot Soccer, an organization that uses soccer to teach African kids about HIV/AIDS and how to stay healthy in their communities. After graduating from Oberlin College, my work with GRS will be an ideal next step, combining my lifetime passion for soccer, interest in public health and international development, and desire to live and work in Africa. For the next year, I'll be living in Bloemfontein and throughout South Africa, working with African youth, coaches, and professional soccer players to contribute to the battle against the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
